On August 7th, Wayfair, the largest furniture online retailer in the United States, recently acquired DwellStudio, a home furnishing retailer, to expand its size while also expanding its supply.
It is understood that DwellStudio's business includes online and offline, operating an independent B2C shopping site, also has offline stores in New York, and also sells the brand's products in more than 800 retail stores and other e-commerce sites. Its partners include Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and ABC Carpet.
Wayfair said that after the acquisition, DwellStudio will operate as an independent brand of Wayfair, which will be on par with its flash retail brand Joss & Main and furniture brand AllModern.com. However, Wayfair did not disclose specific acquisition transaction information.
The head of the company's strategic initiatives said: "This acquisition not only retains its original DNA, but also allows DwellStudio to expand its core business and improve quality. At the same time, our business will continue to expand, and the brand will be stronger, online and offline integration. It will be clearer."
Since 2013, Wayfair has experienced a busy first half. In February of this year, the company launched a group purchase business on the e-commerce website. In June, it launched the library shopping function. Now it has completed an acquisition, and its positive upward trend may bring better profits to the company. Wayfair achieved $600 million in sales in 2012, and at this rate of growth, this year's turnover could be as high as $1 billion.
