According to overseas news media reports, Taiwan’s Chi Mei Industrial Co., Ltd. in Taiwan recently launched a transparent ABS resin produced using new technologies.
The current production of transparent ABS resin is an emulsion polymerization method. Chi Mei uses a new continuous block polymerization technology that does not require emulsifiers to obtain good products with good quality and high transparency. Compared with the original product, the transparent ABS resin produced by this new technology has the advantages of impact resistance, heat resistance, easy extrusion, good rigidity and high flowability.
Chi Mei started using this technology to produce transparent ABS resin at the end of June. The company plans to establish a production system with an annual output of 30,000 tons before the end of the year. Products will be sold to mainland China, Taiwan and other Asian regions.
