German scientists invent chlorophyll-stained plastic film

German scientists recently invented a plastic film that has been "stained" by chlorophyll. Most green fruits and vegetables contain a large amount of chlorophyll, and this pigment undergoes photooxidation under light irradiation, which decomposes the energy in the food and causes the food to rot. The plastic film is "stained" with chlorophyll in a special way. After such a treated film is used to package food, it can effectively "intercept" the light that causes the food to rot, thereby greatly prolonging the food preservation period.
